Hello! I am Keri Strachan, and I am passionate about helping my clients live their best life.
I don’t believe in diets. I love good food, and believe that if you choose real food, and plan healthy meals that satisfy and excite you, you won’t need to snack… and more importantly, you won’t be tempted by poor food choices.
After being in private practice in Hillcrest for almost 20 years, at the beginning of 2022, I relocated with my family to the Midlands. My practice is now based in Howick, at the House@9, 9 Drew Ave, Howick. This has been a very exciting and fulfilling move, securing a slower, more gentle pace of life, reminiscent of how my husband and I grew up!
With a special interest in sports nutrition and a low carb high fat (LCHF) lifestyle, I help clients manage their health issues like diabetes, PCOS, and metabolic syndrome, working towards healthy and holistic food habits. I am committed to journeying with my clients, and finding individualised strategies that suit your specific needs.
More recently, since my own personal cancer journey, oncology has become a growing interest of mine. As always the field of nutrition never stays stagnant, and this is particularly true for oncology nutrition. I am currently undergoing a year long training into the Metabolic Approach to Cancer, which will add huge value to my practice scope, and I have big dreams of where this could lead me. I work with a wide range of clients to provide specific solutions that work for various age groups, family dynamics and lifestyle preferences.
FAMILY NUTRITION
I work with many families, where we focus on developing healthy food relationships within the home. I guide parents on healthy eating for children of all ages, and offer special nutritional plans for adolescents too, including adolescent athletes.
SPORTS NUTRITION
I work with together with athletes of various sporting specialities to formulate sport’s training guides, and race day strategies.
I also offer sessions for body composition assessments.
MEDICAL NUTRITION
I work with patients, referred by their doctors, to assist in guiding and obtaining a healthier lifestyle and eating plan specific to their medical needs. Our focus is to change unhealthy habits and reduce risk.
